Missions that Matter: ECT’s Fourth Annual Giving Project

ECT’s end-of-year tradition continues with our fourth annual Giving Project. This year we celebrate three employees and the missions that matter to them.

These difference makers have taken volunteerism to a higher level as leaders in their communities supporting unique causes. Their passion and commitment represent the essence of ECT and our collective journey on the path to a better tomorrow.

Each non-profit organization received a $5,000 financial donation, made on behalf of the ECT employee engaged with their charity. To date, our Giving Project has returned nearly $80,000 to communities and causes that matter.

Chad’s wife Leighanne always had a heart for working with special needs children. It was a chance encounter with the owners of Horses with a Mission, in Groveland, FL, though, that sparked the same passion in Chad and the couple’s two pre-teen daughters. For the past few years, the family has been a constant presence at the equine therapy center.

Ellen serves as Board Chair for Resilient Virginia, a non-profit dedicated to accelerating resilience planning across the Commonwealth. Sharing her environmental management and planning experience with the organization has been her passion project since she joined the board in 2017. Not only is Resilient Virginia a valued resource for community leaders but they take on critical work such as the 2023 Virginia Economically Disadvantaged Communities Energy Resiliency Study.

Chris has given a lifetime of talent and energy to the Tampa Bay Raptor Rescue, personally rescuing, nursing, and caring for many of the birds who live at its Moccasin Lake location in Clearwater, FL. He knows each bird by name, knows their story and exactly what kind of care they need before they once again take flight. Now the Vice President of this non-profit, Chris enlists friends, family, and co-workers to learn about the birds and support the mission.
