Strategic hire strengthens the firm’s position in key regions and critical growth markets
September 16, 2022 (Austin, TX) – ECT hired Amber Ballman as Operations Director for the the firm’s Natural Resources division in the Texas region. To complement ongoing project work and a growing team of professionals in the Central and Western US, Amber will formalize and grow operations in Texas and the expanded region to serve clients and their dynamic program needs.
In addition to operations and project management strengths, Amber specializes ecological and permitting expertise for renewable and linear corridor projects including wind, solar, transmission, and oil and gas projects. She has also developed specializations around federal permitting, water infrastructure, and transportation projects.

Based in Austin, Amber joins a national natural resources team focused on progressive ecological consulting, rare and protected species, cultural resource management, permitting strategies, and construction support for power and energy, land development, and public-sector clients nationwide. She brings a passion for adding project and client value through a continual focus on quality, proactive and robust agency engagement, and engaging on projects throughout the entire lifecycle.
Prior to joining ECT, Amber held a leadership role with a national consulting firm. She holds her master’s degree in Rangeland Ecology & Management from Texas A&M University as well as her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology. She has previously been involved with the Native Plant Society, Society of Wetland Scientists, and Audubon Society.
