Wastewater Infrastructure Engineering
Billerica, Massachusetts
The Town of Billerica sought a trusted engineering partner to support its wastewater infrastructure, address aging assets, maintain regulatory compliance, and provide responsive on-call engineering services. Facing collection system rehabilitation needs, evolving wastewater priorities, and funding challenges, the Town engaged ECT to provide ongoing engineering, planning, and project delivery support.
ECT provides comprehensive support for the Town’s Water Resource Recovery Facility and collection system, including infrastructure planning and design, industrial pretreatment assistance, sewer capacity evaluations for new development, maintenance of the Town’s collection system model, and updates to the Town’s Sewer Rules and Regulations. Current work includes pump station upgrades, sewer rehabilitation and replacement projects, including a river crossing, and systemwide wastewater planning efforts to help prioritize future capital improvements. ECT supports these initiatives through planning, design, bidding, construction administration, and funding assistance, including State Revolving Fund (SRF) applications and other grant opportunities.
Through responsive service, technical expertise, and strong relationships with town staff, ECT has become a trusted extension of the Town’s team. This ongoing partnership helps Billerica proactively manage its wastewater infrastructure, meet regulatory requirements, support economic development, and make strategic investments that will benefit the community for decades to come.
