ECT partnered with a client on the evaluation and development of a 650-acre site proposed for a new data center. Through comprehensive environmental consulting services, ECT assisted the client in identifying and addressing critical issues that could affect both the construction and long-term facility operations. This included a detailed critical issues analysis and a permit matrix outlining key federal and state regulatory requirements, identifying potential environmental constraints across the project site and surrounding areas, and giving the client a clear roadmap for informed, compliant development.
As the project evolved, the client has expanded ECT’s scope to address additional technical and regulatory priorities, including aquatic resources delineations, biological habitat assessments, cultural resources assessments, a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, and air quality modeling, along with on-call consultation on design impacts to surface waters.
Throughout this ongoing partnership, ECT has helped the client minimize regulatory exposure and avoid actions that may impact environmental resources regulated under key federal laws, including the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and Sections 7 and 10 of the Endangered Species Act. ECT’s adaptive, forward-looking approach proactively identified and managed permitting risk, helping the client streamline development, maintain compliance, and achieve project goals efficiently and sustainably.
