# When People Thrive,
Progress Follows.

**Our strategic plan makes our mission clear:** to inspire environmental and economic advancement for a more resilient future. We ask ourselves to strive for progress, always add value, and keep things simple as the strategic anchors to our progressive organization and our thriving community of professionals.

## Values Connect Us

We are 300 people spread out across the nation, from urban Boston to rural New Mexico. In a field, in an office, in a living room. With so many things today pointing at our differences, we have found that our values, and the behaviors that represent them, connect us no matter the physical or philosophical space between.

We take responsibility for the quality of our work and the outcomes it supports. We hold each other accountable to doing what we say we will and working toward long-term value.

Our passion fuels challenging and complex work. Whether our driver is client success, professional development, or environmental stewardship – we get after it.

We strive to be a healthy organization with minimal politics and authentic leadership. Team players put the outcomes first and work on behalf of the team, the work, and ECT.

Being an ESOP or employee-owned organization signals different things to different people. At ECT, it reflects our desire to remain a fiercely independent, privately held organization delivering value to clients and colleagues. It also means we focus our efforts on value creation for stakeholders as well as the ownership mindset that maps directly to our shared values.

Lastly, ownership culture fosters transparency within our business practices, financial position, and organizational initiatives with engaged leadership committed to our clients and solutions more than executing the next company acquisition. To that point, ECT is a certified [JUST 2.0 organization,](https://just.living-future.org/s/organizations/20-organizations/environmental-consulting-and-technology) qualifying based on our diversity, social equity, and compensation practices.

## Recognition Inspires Us

We realize that solid compensation, great benefits, and opportunities for performance recognition are the first rung of the recognition ladder. At ECT, we have worked hard to create opportunities in a distributed workforce to recognize each other and the outstanding work we do each day. Our 2026 Annual Employee Survey produced an Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) of 41 (-100 to 100 scale), reflecting employee engagement and satisfaction, as well as a 5.36/6 as the average score for employees feeling that someone at ECT cares about them.

One emerging recognition program is the [ECT Monarch Award](https://www.ectinc.com/project-manager-kurt-hansen-receives-ects-2025-monarch-award/), an annual award soliciting feedback for the employee who embodies our shared values. Having taken flight quickly among our colleagues, the platform has already spun off an everyday recognition program called Monarch Moments, complementing the annual award effort.

Safety never stops. At ECT, wellness starts with Health & Safety leadership, programs, and project-specific safety planning. The investment evolves with our practices and projects, but the focus remains to ensure the safety and wellness of our people, our project partners, and the community interacting with them.

Our commitment to employee and community wellness extends from our workplace flexibility practices to employee coaching, assistance, and lifestyle resources to comprehensive benefit programs across the wellness spectrum. And to top it all off, we commit to expanding environmental and social wellness to our communities and ecosystems through the annual ECT Giving Project, now in its seventh year.
